Danielle has been with Doggy Day Out since April 2003, and is also our kennel manager. Danielle turned her hobby of dog training into a full-time career in the summer of 2006. In 2016 Danielle recently took another step in her training career by successfully completing the Karen Pryor Academy training program and becoming a Certified Training Partner. She also has certifications in Advanced Obedience, Behavior Modification, Scent Detection, Tracking, Retrieval, Utility, and Puppy Development.

Danielle is also an approved evaluator for the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and S.T.A.R. puppy programs offered through the AKC.

Danielle trained her first dog, a Bull Mastiff mix, when she was 12 years old and the joy of teaching dogs has been with her ever since. Danielle lives and trains with multiple dogs with a focus on the dog sport of flyball.  She is a member of the RUSH! Flyball club based in Austin and several of her dogs have titled in the sport. Danielle’s heart dog is Liberty-Belle, a 10 year old Jack Russell Terrier. She is everyone's best friend regardless of whether in competition or working the booth at one of the many pet fairs she attends throughout the year. Liberty has earned her CGC, CD, Novice Rally (RN) and Advanced Rally (RA) titles. She has also earned her ONYX title in flyball, and Novice DockDogs title. In addition, Liberty also attends lure coursing, and go-to-ground competitions.  Liberty has appeared in various print and TV spots; this is one tireless dog! Danielle’s furry family is rounded out with Makena, Mika, Blurr, Flirt, Volt and long-term foster dog Hoss.  Her two Bengal cats Banzai and Shenzi maintain order around the house.

Danielle gives back to the dog community as a foster home for Border Collie Rescue of Texas, from whom she also adopted 2 of her “fur-kids”. She is also an agent and foster for Russel Rescue Inc.  In addition she is a puppy raiser for the Military Working Dog (MWD) program at Lackland Air Force Base.  Three of the dogs she has raised are currently on active duty.  Danielle has also participated 3 times in the Extreme Mutt Makeover event as 1 of only 10 trainers in Texas selected to train a shelter dog in 6 weeks to increase their chances of adoption.  All 3 dogs she trained were adopted into loving homes and are enjoying their new lease on life.

Steve Corona

Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP)

A life full of dogs and loving every minute of it!

In April 2005 Steve Corona’s dream job became reality when he took over ownership of Doggy Day Out Kennel and Daycare.  Coming from the corporate and service industry sectors, Steve understands that today’s hectic schedules can mean man’s best friend doesn’t always get the attention they need and deserve.  Doggy Day Out’s method of rotating outdoor playtime throughout the day appeals to both pet parents and their dogs!  Whether visiting for daycare or overnight boarding, all dogs thrive on socialization.  Your dog will be mentally and physically engaged having a blast in playgroup or when receiving personalized attention.

Steve enjoys the outdoors, music, and technology.  He is an active member of the Alamo Racing Canines Flyball Club and serves as a Supervising Judge as well as the Executive Director for the North American Flyball Association (NAFA®).  He is a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner as well as having completed the Puppy Start Right Course.  Steve believes that ongoing education of dog behavior, nutrition, and training is essential for any boarding facility owner and attends various seminars throughout the year to keep abreast of the latest information.

Steve and his wife Shelley share their home with their dogs Sierra, Zambonee, Bristol, Ace, Tinsley, and Maggie the Cat.

CATHY Caballero

Dogs have always been a part of Cathy’s family. She began her training and trialing career after adopting two Labrador Retrievers from the Heart of Texas Lab Rescue in 2005. She has competed in Rally, Obedience, Agility, and Dock Diving at AKC events and has earned multiple titles in obedience, rally, agility, and dock diving with all of her dogs. She has attended multiple National Championships in Rally and Agility. Her Novice A dog, Olive, has the distinction of being the very first veteran National Dock Diving Champion that the AKC recognizes!

Cathy’s mentor was Joyce Morgan, a well respected AKC obedience judge and trainer in Austin. Cathy helped Joyce teach basic obedience/puppy classes for several years. As Cathy’s experience and successes in competing grew, so did her desire to help others pursue better relationships with their dogs!

Cathy became an AKC Obedience and Rally judge in 2011 and enjoys giving back to the sport which has provided her with great friendships and improved relationships with her dogs.

Cathy presently trains and competes with her 2 Labrador Retrievers, Kallie and Desi, who were ranked as the top 2 Labradors in the country for Rally obedience in 2022. Cathy and the girls have attended multiple national events, competing against other top teams in the country in Rally and Obedience. She hopes to start field training this year.

Cathy is available for private and group lessons at all levels of Rally and Obedience.
